The area of the Giant West occurrence is underlain by undivided volcanic rocks of the Pennsylvanian Stikine Assemblage. In 2017, the J2 Syndicate prospected and sampled its Giant property. An area about 6 metres wide by 15 metres long was found to contain multiple areas of mineralized quartz outcrop. This area occurs in an exposed area of volcanic outcrop of 100 metres by 100 metres. Part or all of the 6 by 15 metres area is described as very punky, malachite-stained quartz stockwork hosting 3 per cent chalcocite. One sample assayed 0.051 gram per tonne gold, 9.2 grams per tonne silver and 0.36 per cent copper (Sample W385541, Assessment Report 37140).
